On September 27th, F.W. Gilbert held their Truth and Reconciliation Day. Students, staff and parents were encouraged to wear orange in honour of the children who attended residential schools. Elder Mabel Bignell, her son Quintin, daughter-in-law Jessica and their family lead the school on a reflective walk. Following the walk, the students participated in a variety of activities focused on indigenous culture, community, and the history behind “orange shirt day”.

T-shirt orders have been processed (but if you want to buy any more, you could do so individually on the website as our school bulk order deadline has now past).
In addition to donations, we will be raising funds through the sale of hot dog lunches. The food will be available shortly after the completion of our walk/run. Pre-sale food forms must be in no later than Friday, September 27th. All profit will go towards the Terry Fox Run due to the generous donations from our local SOLO MARKET.
