March Madness: Book Edition! To celebrate I Love to Read month, our Grade 5/6 class has created a school-wide book bracket with four themed categories: Silly, Nature, Confidence, and Problem-Solving. Our 5/6 students will read the books aloud, and classes will vote to decide the winners. Stay tuned as our Sweet Sixteen face off—only one book will be crowned champion!

What a cool experience our international student Simone got helping process pork with his host family.

The Pinawa Panthers varsity girls’ basketball team ended their season tonight, after playing a tough game against Sprague. The team lost 3 players at the end of January when Lily, Brooke and Franzi, (International students) returned home. This resulted in a small team of 7 to continue playing for the rest of the season. Despite the small size of the team, they managed to hold their own against Wanipigow and Sagkeeng teams.
Miss Remillard would like to thank Jodie Ebeling for coaching the team and getting them ready for the season. The girls were lucky to have you as their head coach! Miss Remillard would also like to thank Bella Roche for her help with coaching the team, when Jodie was away. And finally, she wants to thank the parents, guardians, students, staff and community members who attended our games, and cheered on the team! Your support is really appreciated!
All the best to our graduating players, Raquel Long, Mika Rasmussen and Annika Suski, Izzy Boer
thank you for all of your contributions to the team. We will miss you!

Today FWG participated in a Jump Party with 20 different stations in support of HEART Month in which we attempted to raise awareness for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. As part of Jump Rope for Heart, we are asking families to help us fundraise for the Foundation. If you would like to donate, please use the following link which will remain open until March 7th, 2025. F.W. Gilbert School - Pinawa | Heart & Stroke Jump Rope for Heart You can donate generically to the school/to a specific student if they made a page.
