Cree Métis artist, Michael Many Eagles, from Deep Creek, MB, has been creating, sharing and exhibiting his works in stone both locally and internationally since 1989. In addition to teaching and conducting soapstone carving workshops in schools, businesses, and other public institutions throughout Canada, he has also had his works displayed in the Winnipeg artist’s collective studio entitled “the hyve”. As a traditional carver, he collects Canadian soapstone himself from Northwestern Ontario and uses only hand tools. His art is held in collections around the globe, such as the Canadian Embassy in Beijing, China, as well as by numerous well-known personalities, including actor Keanu Reeves.
This year, Michael Many Eagles is offering a FREE adult workshop on Tuesday, May 6th from 6:30-8:00pm. There is a limited space available to book your spot, contact Mrs. Hayter at 204-753-2559 or fwg@sdwhiteshell.mb.ca.
