The staff welcomes all students who choose to enrol in Pinawa Secondary School. It is a school which offers many opportunities for the students. Our theme is "Courtesy and Respect". Courtesy towards each other and Respect for the individual and the contributions each makes towards the life of the school and community.

We pride ourselves in a high standard of education. The students receive an excellent background in the academic courses. This has been evident in the performance of students in contests, provincial examinations and other areas where knowledge is a factor in success. Pinawa Secondary School is a school of caring teachers who are willing to provide extra help whenever students experience difficulties. Teachers have high expectations and demand high standards but the rewards are worthwhile. Classes are usually small which gives teachers the opportunity to know students as individuals and deal with their specific needs. We offer a wide choice of courses to meet the needs of the students.

Besides the compulsory courses, we offer art, industrial arts, home economics, band, woodworking, drafting, psychology, law, computer courses, keyboarding and others. We believe that students need a much broader education and, therefore, we provide many opportunities that are not academic. Sports, Reach, drama, contests, student council, dances, soc hops, concert band, jazz band, 5-day canoe trip, bicycle trips, driver education and field trips are all part of the extracurricular activities. While these activities are fun, they also provide the opportunity to learn life skills.
